“At the end, I almost cried when Lily was
asleep and Father was saying goodbye to her. He was saying how
everything was going to be okay. I also almost cried when Lily
was saying to Albert that he needs to be her friend and then
they hugged. It was very emotional for me. I felt bad for Lily
when she lost her purse with all of her money in it for the
summer. I didn’t like when the mean bully dropped the kitten in
the water. That was very mean of him to do that to Albert’s cat.
It as also mean of Margaret to eat Eddie’s Candy. When I found
out Eddie has died, that was rally sad! It seemed like Lily
loved him because when she found out she was devastated!” -

“The way that the play effected me was that
it made me really sad but not enough to cry as some parts but
happy at others. I didn’t know what was going to happen next in
the play so it kept me wondering. I think that it showed me how
much the war affected the soldier’s family and friends. It
showed me how brave and patient the people were in the war. It
made me realize that I am very lucky to have my family” - 5th

“I loved the play “Lily’s Crossing” it was
the crème de la crème, or should I say the best of the best. The
book was excellent, but your play was outstanding. The
characters played well especially Albert his Hungarian accent
was so cool. The scenes, the clothes everything about the play
was phenomenal.” - 6th Grader, Broad Meadows Middle School –

“I liked it a lot because your acting was
very good. Some parts made me laugh and cry. It effected me when
I saw that Lily was crying, when her dad had to join the Army,
when she found out that Eddie died, and the ending when
everything turned out fine. I don’t think it should be improved
because it made me bring tears to my eyes. I thought the actors
were phenomenal. Thank you for inviting me to your play! -

“I liked your play a lot. I have never seen a
play that was better than yours. I liked how you did parts of
the play when you didn’t have those props. My favorite of these
parts was when Lily was teaching Albert to swim. It [affected]
me a lot because the play was really sad and the acting was
really good. It seemed like all the different emotions were
real. My teacher was sitting next to me and she was crying. I
don’t think the play could have been improved at all. It was so
great it couldn’t possibly be any better” - 5th Grader,

“I enjoyed the Lily’s Crossing performance
very much! I even cried a little too. I t was very heart
touching and the actors did a wonderful job. When Lily’s father
went off to the army all I thought about was my father. I, too,
would feel very depressed if my dad went and joined the army
without telling me in advance. That scene was one of my
favorites.” - 5th Grader, Public School 14 – Bayonne, NJ
“I thought the play “Lily’s Crossing” was
great! I loved how everything was brought into the year 1944
because it showed me what that time was really like. That was my
favorite part of the performance. The performance told me that
when you tell big lies, it can become a big problem. It also
effected me by showing me how much I would miss my parents if
they both left.” - 5th Grader, Public School 14 – Bayonne, NJ
